.             roll County was with Reuben when he died.  Acc to Mr Lindsey, Reuben had been wounded, treated, recovered and returned to
.             his unit, got cold and wet from rain and sleet, took the "fever" and died of pneumonia at a place far from home."

.          1862, 3 Apr: Reuben Bond, Carroll Co, Va militia, was mustered into service in Smith County, Va, in service 10 days.
.                    Reuben Bond was on a list of Carroll Co, Va militia, File Number M382 roll 5.
..         1863, 4 Jul: List of Confederates Captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi: Reuben Bond, serving in Botetourt Co, Va. Art, in hospital
.                    C.S.A.  He was captured by the Union Army, and was on a Roll of Prisoners of War in hospitals and paroled at Vicksburg 16
.                    Jul 1863.  This is apparently not the Reuben Bond of Carroll Co, Va, but perhaps the one mentioned below who d 8 Dec 1863
.                    Gettysburg.  If so the Union Army captured him, released him, and a few months later he died while serving at Gettysburg.
.                    And, if so, there were two Reuben Bonds serving at Vicksburg.
.          1870 census, Mary not located.

.          There was another Reuben Bond, who died at Gettysburg, Pa on 8 Dec 1863.  He was a private in Capt Douthat's Co of the Bote-
.          tourt, Va light artillery, which served as Co H 28th Regiment Va Infantry, known as the "mountain Rifles".  Apparently the same
.          Reuben Bond who was in Johnson Company, Va Art.  Also poss the same Reuben Bond captured at Vicksburg, Miss, see above.
