.           Alexander's parentage is unproven, but he was prob a grandson of
James Goad (#231) of Floyd Co, and poss a son of Abraham
.           Goad (#23), but could also have been a son of one of James' daughters.  Living next to Alexander in 1860 was Reuben Cox (Cock)
.           (#115), a brother of Abraham's 2nd wife Rachel Cock.  Alexander named a son Ballard Preston Goad, a common name in the
.           Floyd/Carroll Co, Va families, and Alexander's grandson was Alexander Hewitt Goad, prob named for the Hughett family, who
.           intermarried with the Goads, namely Abraham's 1st wife Elcy Hughett, his aunt Elizabeth Goad Hughett, and his dau-in-law Nancy
.           Hughett.
